We get asked some questions more often than others so we have put together a list of our most frequently asked questions so that you can see you are not alone and we are not born with the inate ability to know what a VESA is!

Q. How do I mount my TV on the Wall?
A. You can choose from a range of TV Wall Brackets according to what you want your TV to be able to do! Once you have selected your choice of wall bracket then you have to decide where it is going to go, make sure that when you mark up the wall, that the bracket is level so that your TV wont end up being wonky! Screw the Bracket to the wall and then screw the TV to the Bracket, its that simple.

Q. Which bracket will fit my TV?
A. If you have recently purchased a new LCD or Plasma TV, then it will have fixing holes on the back. The distance between these holes in terms of Width and Height, measured in millimetres, will determine which tv wall bracket you need. We have organised our TV Wall Brackets into 2 TV size groups: Up to 32" and Over 32" so if you arent sure what your size is then you can simply check which wall brackets have been designed to fit your size of TV. And if all else fails just call us and ask!

Q. What is VESA?
A. VESA stands for Video Electronics Standards Association and is an international body established in the late 1980's with the aim of creating Industry Standards within the Electronics market, one of which being the compatibility of TV's with TV mounting devices. Your TV's VESA (or Flat Display Mounting Interface / FDMI as it is officially known) is made up of the measurements, in mm, between the fixing holes on the back of your TV. Firstly the Width and then the Height giving you a VESA measurement from anywhere between 75x75 up to 280x150 and above. The original VESA known as MIS-D was 100x100 and was introduced in 1997 for Computer Monitors, with the 75x75 being introduced shortly after for smaller screens. In 2006 a greater number of VESA were introduced in order to account for the increasing number of larger LCD and Plasma TV's that were being sold. There are now 4 main distinctions between the VESA and these are known as:
MIS-D75 / MIS-D / MIS-E & MIS-F
The letter after the MIS identifies which part of the VESA standard is being adhered to:
 - B, C, D, E for flat displays with 10-78cm diagonal measurement.
 - F for flat displays with 79-230cm diagonal measurement

Q. Will my wall support the weight of my TV?
A. We would always advise that you should mount your TV on a solid brick or stud wall especially if you are purchasing a swing and tilt bracket that is designed to pull away from the wall and be turned. All of our TV Wall brackets are manufactured to the highest quality and are rigorously tested to ensure that they meet all necessary standards for use.

Q. Can i mount my TV on a Plasterboard Wall?
A. The answer to this question had always been NO because a Plasterboard wall would not be able to support the weight of a TV on such a small pressure point as a bolt/screw. But we weren't happy with this and AV4ALL has recently commissioned a design company to find a solution to this problem, we are pleased to announce that we are able to offer a Plasterboard Wall Fixing Kit for LCD and Plasma TV Wall Mounting.
